Spanish Minor

Offered by the Department of Art, Communication, English, and World Languages

The Spanish minor enables Mansfield University students to become more competitive in the workforce by developing intermediate-mid proficiency linguistic and cultural competencies in Spanish, skills that will enhance their professional portfolio in various fields:  healthcare, law enforcement, social work, education, business administration, international politics, communication, etc.  Students will be better qualified in 22 Spanish-speaking countries to pursue work or service abroad in international and / or non-profit organizations.

Upon completion of the minor program, students will be able to:

• Understand and speak the target language at an intermediate-mid level as described in the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Proficiency Guidelines.
• Read and write in the target language at the intermediate-mid level.
• Demonstrate understanding of Spanish culture.
