The African American Studies minor offers students the opportunity to study African American culture from a multidisciplinary perspective. The minor seeks to prepare students to meet the challenges of an increasingly diverse workplace, society, and world.

Humanity - Choose 3 credit hours from the following:
ENG 2220 and ENG 3320 must have an African-American topic Social Sciences or Fine Arts - Choose 3 credit hours from the following:
Capstone: Choose 3 credit hours from the following:
ENG 4401 and HST 4452 must have an African-American topic Electives
Take three courses from the following:
- ENG 3305 and ENG 3307 must have an African-American topic
- SPE 3275 is by instructor permission
- May also take any of the Core courses listed above not used to meet requirements
