PHL 3230 - FORMAL LOGIC Examines forms of argumentation and formal reasoning, including inductive inference, categorical syllogisms, and propositional logic. In addition to examining both standard and non-standard categorical arguments, this course provides an introduction to symbolic notation, the use of truth tables, and the rules of natural deduction. Required for the Philosophy major.
Credits: 3 cr.
