BI 3396 - LABORATORY ANIMAL SCIENCE An undergraduate level course intended to give students a foundation in laboratory animal science as well as an introduction to animal handling techniques. Mouse models commonly used in biochemical research will be emphasized. This course covers the feeding, common management practices, and care of laboratory animals and will provide the basic knowledge of handling., husbandry, nutrition, and common diseases of laboratory animals. This course will introduce the student to the principles and basic considerations in experiment design of scientific research that utilizes animal models.
