SWK 2500 - DIVERSITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE This online course increases awareness, knowledge, and understanding of issues related to diversity, human rights, social and economic justice. Students will examine the history of social welfare and the social work profession’s response to oppression of at risk groups. Personal and interpersonal connections to power and privilege are explored. Topics include race and racism, classism, sexism, ableism, youth and elder oppression. Students will learn skills to mobilize power towards positive change in systems.
Credits: 3 cr.
