MU 3315 - ORCHESTRATION Designed to provide the basic skills of notation, parts extraction, transposing and arranging, in addition to information on instrumental ranges, qualities, and usages. Strings, woodwinds, and brass are treated as distinct families. Provides a fluent understanding of skills and concepts and, as a by-product, the student will become more aware of score reading and audio awareness. Good manuscript habits will make it possible for musicians to read new music and students will be able to use these skills in graduate school.
Prerequisites & Notes: MU 3312 or permission of instructor.
Credits: 3 cr.
